About URBANLET And Its People

URBANLET is the trading name of The London Letting Agency Ltd, which was founded in October 2002 by two entrepreneurs - Paul Knight and Martin Hansen. Although a young company, the founders have a substantial amount of business experience, which has been put to good use when developing the URBANLET franchise concept.

Paul in particular has a wealth of property marketing skills gained by working with some large "blue chip" clients. It's from his knowledge and experience that the idea was born to create a business that would take advantage of the growing residential lettings market place.

Having decided that the best way to grow their already successful lettings business was by Franchising, they then investigated the best way of doing this. As part of their research they met with representatives of The Franchise Doctors, and as a result of further discussions, Mark O'Leary joined the URBANLET team as their external specialist Franchise Consultant and Franchisee Development Director.

To illustrate how serious we are about the success of our Franchisees we have engaged the Franchise Doctors for the next five years! Not just to launch the Franchise, but to help grow and develop YOUR business.

  • Overall business strategy of URBANLET
  • Recruitment and on-going development of the URBANLET Franchise
  • Continued responsibility for the strategic direction and development of the company structure
  • Continued development of the bespoke web-based LET-system

Background:

  • A life long marketer, Paul is a founder member of the Institute of Direct Marketing and a member of The Chartered Institute of Marketing. Over the last 25 years he has worked for and with some of the most respected "blue chip" companies around (The Royal Bank of Scotland, Alliance & Leicester, Fidelity Investments, Royal Sun Alliance, AIG, The Computing Group and Microsoft, to name but a few)
  • Received accolades for achievement and excellence in the field of direct marketing
  • Has provided consultancy services to many companies, from one-man-bands to Royal Sun Alliance
  • In 2002, Paul sold his consultancy business and, together with Martin Hansen, formed The London Letting Agency. The business has already grown from a standing start to three successful offices located in Dockland and Greenwich
  • Paul lives in Docklands with long-term girlfriend Janie, and has two grown up children - a son Danny and daughter Joanna

  • Overseeing day-to-day operations
  • Directly responsible for the overall performance of the entire lettings business
  • Overseeing the development of the operational process
  • Overall Franchise Training Strategy and Delivery
  • Ongoing mentoring of the Franchisees

Background

  • Martin graduated from Middlesex University with a Politics & Law degree in 2000 and commenced work with a Spanish property company. He then moved to the UK and worked for a small property management company where he met Paul. Together they formed The London Letting Agency. The business has already grown from a standing start to three successful offices located in Docklands and Greenwich.

Mark's role in the team is to help you...

  • Succeed! Mark's primary role is to contribute to the success of all our Franchisees. He'll be working closely ('hands on') with you to make sure you have the right level of support to help you achieve the results we believe are possible.
  • Get a steady stream of customers! Mark obviously won't be doing the sales and marketing for you, but he will be continually developing, improving and testing all our existing marketing strategies, and adding others to them to keep your business flourishing.
  • Improve "The System"! Mark will also be continually working with us to improve and streamline the franchise system so we get the best possible results from everything we and you do.

  • 20 years in Advertising and Marketing as Account Manager & Company Director.
  • Worked with many "Blue Chip" companies to increase their market share.
  • Directly responsible for launching two Communications companies.
  • Creative and project manager for various brand and product launches.
  • Married to Iona.
